Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane has been named as a nominee for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2017 award.
Kane has reached unprecedented levels of goal scoring throughout the year.
The 24-year-old is the only footballer on the list.

2017 has been the most prolific calendar year of Harry Kane’s career so far.
Kane has scored 47 goals in 45 games for club and country, meaning he the only forward with 40+ goals to average at least one goal a game.
In the process, Kane won the Premier League Golden Boot, guided Spurs to a second place finish and captained England to next year’s World Cup.
The BBC SPOTY becomes Kane’s ninth nomination for an award this year.
The forward has already been nominated to win the likes of the Ballon d’Or, FIFA the Best FIFA Men's Player, UEFA TOTY and PFA Player of the Year.
