PSG Provides Update On Neymar’s Injury Amid Surgery Rumours

Paris Saint- Germain on Wednesday have announced that Star player, Neymar will undergo surgery in Brazil this week after he suffered a fractured metatarsal and a sprained ankle.

Recall that the Brazilian was stretched off in tears after suffering an ankle injury in a Ligue 1 clash with Marseille on Sunday after he tangled with midfielder Bouna Sarr in the 76th minute and landed awkwardly on his ankle.

“After tests, and with the player’s agreement, it has been decided that surgery is the best option,” PSG said in a statement.

“Neymar Jr will be operated on in Brazil at the end of the week.”

The surgery will be performed by the Brazil national team doctor.

This means the 26-year-old will miss next week’s UEFA Champions League match against Real Madrid.

PSG trail Real 3-1 ahead of the last 16 second-leg game on Tuesday in Paris.
