Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has provided an update on Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s position at the club.
The Armenian has been on the fringes of the first team ever since Mourinho took over the reins at Old Trafford.
Mkhitaryan has only started one of United's last 10 Premier
League matches and looks likely to depart during this transfer window.
Man Utd have reportedly offered the 28-year-old to Arsenal as part of the deal for Alexis Sanchez.
Mourinho says that if he makes any signings this month then he will have to balance the books to keep his squad at 22 members.
But he insists that Mkhitaryan is the only player that could potentially depart and did not rule out him joining the Gunners.
"He is our player so I can speak about him,” Mourinho said.
“He has a lot to offer us. Is he going to be involved in leaving us? It is possible. The market is open.
“I have a squad of 22 players and I want to keep a squad of 22 players.
“I am not giving him a chance because I have a lot of players in those position.
“He is the only one that I open the door to play because he has really high talent.”
Man Utd beat Stoke 3-0 last night to close the gap to premier League leaders Manchester City to 12 points.
They will look to close the gap further when they travel to Burnley on Saturday (3pm).
