Chelsea are in the driving seat to sign Juventus defender Alex Sandro in January, according to reports.
Chelsea were linked with a move for Alex Sandro in the summer as Antonio Conte sought to strengthen his defence.
The Blues boss wanted the Brazil international to offer competition to Marcos Alonso but Juve priced them out of a deal.
The Serie A club were demanding £80million for the left-back, forcing the Stamford Bridge club to shelve their interest.
However,The Sun claim a move for Sandro is now back on the cards and a January deal is looking increasingly likely.
The report says Sandro has been kicking up a fuss at Juve in the hope of forcing through a move.
He is said to have made it clear he wishes to leave the Serie A giants and has chosen Chelsea as his preferred destination.
Manchester United are also in the running for the
26-year-old, turning their attention to him after failing to sign Danny
Rose from Tottenham.
The Sun claim Sandro is a priority signing for Jose Mourinho in January but the defender has his sights firmly set on Stamford Bridge.
Alex Sandro wants a move to Chelsea and not Manchester United.
Speaking earlier this month about signings, Conte suggested
he would be doing business in Januaryin order to keep pace with runaway
league leaders Manchester City.
“I think Manchester City in this season is a strong team.
After the transfer market, they bought theirfirst targets and then they
have improved a lot,” he said.
"They can do this also in January maybe, in the future.
“For this reason we must be worried because if we want to compete with Manchester City we have to work and then make the best decisions in the transfer market."
