Chelsea 2 – Brighton 0
Chelsea secured a routine win over Brighton on Boxing Day at Stamford Bridge.
It was an all-Spanish affair in terms of both goals and assists for Chelsea after a goalless first half.
Cesar Azpilicueta set up Alvaro Morata for the opener. Cesc
Fabrgas’ corner was headed home by Marcos Alonso to complete the win.
Chelsea are now one point behind Manchester United and have put a decent run together since losing at West Ham.
One of the big transfer stories of the day came from Chile.
La Cuatra reported that Antonio Conte had been in touch with Arturo Vidal to sign for Chelsea.
Conte and Vidal enjoyed plenty of success together at Juventus during three years with the Old Lady.
And, ever since Conte has arrived at Chelsea, the Blues have been linked with the Chile midfielder.
Vidal has a contract at Bayern Munich until the end of 2018/2019 but the Bavarians may be open to sell.
According to reports in Chile, Conte has offered Vidal 15 million euros a season and a four-year deal to join Chelsea.
After the Brighton match, Conte was asked about Chelsea signing Arturo Vidal next summer.
Conte said: “July is very far. Arturo is a great player
& I have great respect for him. I spent many years with him at
Juventus & said I would want him to go to war with me.”
"But Arturo Is a [Fantastic Player].
I have a great respect for arturo and we spent many years in Juventus together."

"If we go to war, I'd always want him to be with me".
Whilst Conte spoke in a calm mannerand refused to confirm
the rumours, it is very clear that the Chelsea boss is a big fan of the
Chilean.
Expect the Arturo Vidal to Chelsea rumours to last at least until the summer now.
