Brazilian playmaker, Neymar and his former Barcelona
teammate, has warned Nigeria, Croatia and Argentina of looking down at
Iceland in the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
In an interview conducted by Pique on The Player’s Tribune, both players discussed the team that can cause an upset in Russia.
Neymar said the Icelandic national team will be the dark horse at the World Cup.
Asked by Pique who he thinks will be the surprise of the World Cup, Neymar said:
“The surprise of the World Cup…Yeah, yeah … but … Iceland.
“I watched one of their games and they played well. I liked
it. They have to … they’ll surprise … Watch out. Yeah, yeah, watch
out.”
Super Eagles of Nigeria will face Iceland at Volgograd Arena, Volgograd on June 22.
Argentina and Croatia are the other countries in Group D of the 2018 World Cup.
