Man United Announce 2018-19 Pre-season Tour In The US (Details)

Manchester United have announced details of their pre-season tour of the United States.

Manchester United will face Mexican side Club America then MLS side San Jose Earthquakes.

But their was no mention of a possible clash with Liverpool, which has been reported.

United executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward, said: “The tour is a central part of the team’s preparation for a long and intense campaign and this is the second consecutive year that we will travel to the US.

“The training facilities are world class and the games will be played in front of passionate crowds, making it an ideal environment for the players to gear up for the new season.

“The club, manager and team always receive a great welcome when visiting America, with our millions of US fans always keen to get closer to Manchester United.”

Since 2010, United have made five visits to the US with a combined 1.3million supporters visiting.

In 2014, United played Real Madrid in front of 109,000 fans at the Big House in Ann Arbor which is a record for a football match in the US.

It is understood United will take on Liverpool at the Big House as part of the International Champions Cup (ICC)competition in July.

Real Madrid, AC Milan and Juventus are also likely to take part in this year’s ICC competition.
