Real Madrid Boss Zinedine Zidane Fires Message To Critics

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has a strong warning for any Cristiano Ronaldo critics.

Cristiano Ronaldo broke a Champions League record last night.

The Portuguese star has performed below his usual high standards so far this campaign but still managed to smash a Champions League record last night.

Ronaldo found the back of the net as Real beat Borussia Dortmund 3-2, making him the first player to score in all six of the first round group matches.

The forward took his seasonal tally up to 11 goals as Real progressed to the last 16.

And Zidane has backed his striker to continue firing for Los Blancos, who sit fourth in the La Liga table.

"Write Cristiano off at your peril," said Zidane.

"We have to give Cristiano a bit more support and show more respect.

"He's so good that when things aren't going quite so well for him, people start to talk.

"The people who love him and Real Madrid know what he's doing.

“He's working hard until the goals start flowing again.

"Last season he did a phenomenal job.

“It's a long season and we're only halfway there."

Madrid will find out their next Champions League opponent on Monday.

But first they face a domestic clash with Sevilla on Saturday (3.15pm).
