Manchester United’s big name players including Paul Pogba have been told they will be sold if they clash with Jose Mourinho.
Pogba and Mourinho were embroiled in a row over his
performances and the best position for the player and it led to the
France midfielder being dropped to the bench for games against
Huddersfield and Sevilla last month.
But against the Spanish side, Pogba earned a reprieve when
Ander Herrera was forced off early on with injury and he replaced him in
the 0-0 draw.
And Pogba has since started United’s last two matches which were wins against Chelsea and Crystal Palace.
Mourinho was a casualty of player power when he was the manager At Chelsea.
But according to the Independent, United executive
vice-chairman Ed Woodward has empowered Mourinho to make whatever
decision he sees fit.
The report says United’s board fully support Mourinho and the players are aware that it is the “the boss’s way or out”.
It is claimed Pogba and his representatives are aware that
should he clash again with Mourinho, the United manager would be backed.
Last month, Mourinho said his players must earn his trust if they want to be a part of his squad.
"I don't give trust for free," Mourinho explained.
”I think it is the other way around. It is not up to the
manager to trust the player. The player has to make the manager trust
him. It is as simple as that.
"Sometimes it looks like we have to give everything to the players and they have to give nothing back to us. I don't think that way.”
