Antonio Conte said he felt "afraid and scared" after Chelsea's flight back from Azerbaijan on Wednesday experienced heavy wind.
Chelsea beat Qarabag 4-0 in Champions League to seal their place in the Champions League knockout stages.
With a game against Liverpool on Saturday evening, Chelsea immediately flew back to London but poor weather conditions made for a turbulent flight and the plane was unable to land at the first attempt.
And Conte has revealed there were moments when he was fearful on the plane.
Conte said: “There was a lot of wind. We tried to land the first time but it wasn’t possible for this reason. He tried again and the second time was positive.
Antonio Conte praised the pilot for his plane management.
“In these circumstances, you feel a bit afraid and scared, but the captain was very good.
“It was a problem to land [due to wind]. I think to get to your house at 6am is not simple and then to rest and recover, only one day to prepare is not right. We have to do this."
He added: “Today we had a good training session and tried to prepare for Liverpool very well.
“To have only one day to prepare and rest is not right for all, not only Chelsea. All the teams.”
