Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has revealed what he did after getting sent off.
Antonio Conte initially sat in the wrong place after being sent off.
The Italian was sent up to the stands for screaming at referee Neil Swarbrick during Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Swansea.
Conte grew frustrated with Swansea for trying to slow the
game down, and he was eventually given his marching orders on the 43rd
minute.
But he misunderstood the referee and instead went and sat at the back area of his dugout.
The official then indicated to Conte that he must in fact sit further up in the stands.
The Blues boss was was bewildered and even considered watching rom the changing rooms - but he is not too keen on that.
It is very strange for me to not be communicating with the players.
Antonio Conte speaking after Chelsea beat Swansea 1-0.
“I don’t like to watch in the dressing room,” Conte said.
“I suffer in the same way to watch it on the video.
“It is very strange for me to not be communicating with the players.”
It is the first time that Conte has been sent off since taking over at Stamford Bridge in 2016.
And it is the ex-Juventus boss’ first sending off in over
five years, but he insists he apologised to the officials after the
game.
“With Juventus, about five years ago, against Genoa,” Conte recalled when asked when he was last sent off.
“I just said [this time] that they are wasting time. A bit
animated, I shouted this, and for this reason the fourth official lost
his patience.
